Custom Speech USA Software and Registry Cleanup

This document describes the procedure for cleaning up your registry.

  1. Uninstall all Custom Speech USA software from your Add/Remove Programs component in the control panel.  This should be done for all products made by Custom Speech USA, and not just those you intend on downloading or installing now.

  2. Backup configuration files, logs, and data that reside in the Custom Speech USA program files folders.  These would include:

Call Center Configuration Files and Audio (Server.ini, TTS.ini, and audio prompts)
    Customized Scripts
    Log files (if required)

  3. Delete the Custom Speech USA program installation folders (this will remove any installed licenses and configurations -- be sure you backed them up in step 2 and have your license pack file)  Be sure you completely delete these folders as this is required for the registry cleaning software to perform properly.  Delete the folders:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Custom Speech USA
    C:\Program Files\Custom Speech USA

  4. Run regedit: Start->Run type in regedit and press OK.

  5. Find the registry key and delete the key folder (by selecting the folder and pressing the delete key on your keyboard):

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Custom Speech USA

  6. Download the registry cleaning utility from here.  Run the program to extract the files onto your computer.

  7. Run the utility from the extracted folder, RegSeeker.exe

  8. Click the item in the left pane "Clean the Registry" and then press the OK button.

  9. Wait while the system locates all problems in your registry (it may take several minutes).

  10. After the processing is complete , press the Select All button, then press the DELETE key on your keyboard to remove the items from the list.  This will create a backup file for you to restore your settings.

  11. Exit the program.  Your registry has now been cleaned.  You may also want to reboot your computer to ensure the system clears itself from anything already loaded into memory.  In case you need to restore your registry, a backup file was made in the Backups folder where the RegSeeker.exe program is located.
